So, this morning I asked my coworkers what I should write about for this week’s article. My answer was “three-legged dogs. Write about tripods.” I love my coworkers. Although I don’t know anything about three-legged dogs I do know a thing or two about coworkers.
I have the best darn coworkers. They are always making me laugh. Sometimes they make me want to cry. We are a family. Most of us have been together for years. Mindy, Martha and Charlie have been with me for more than the last 14 years I’ve been in Mail Services. Cameron, Jim, Ray and Corey are short terms in our department. And, Arthur is brand new to our group. Best of luck to him in our crazy gang.
One of the experiences I had with a coworker, who is not longer with us, was Dan. He got upset that I was hugging everybody but him. So, I threw myself at him and we tumbled over backwards. I ended up laying on top of him on the floor when some visitors walked in on us. They just laughed and promised they weren’t there to judge. I still laugh about that to this day. It had to be a sight to be seen.
Then there was the day that Mindy was having a blonde moment. She went to a building to make a delivery and she got to the double doors and there was a sign saying use the other door. So, she drove around the building to the other side. Gets up to the double doors and there is a sign saying use the other door. She called on the radio and asked how she was supposed to get in the building. My coworker told her to use the other door. She was supposed to use the right-side door of the double doors not go to a different entrance. We still laugh about this to this day.
Fourteen years is a long time to come up with a lot of memories. Most of them have been good. But we don’t always get along. Like any family. We have our ups and downs. We always land on our feet, apologize for our misunderstandings and continue on with our friendships.
I can’t forget my coworkers at Kohl’s. We have such a turnover of employees there that I get to meet many interesting people. Though we aren’t as close as my full-time job, there are memories to be made. There are several of us that have been there for many years and have gotten to know each other very well. There is Bernice who thanks me for coming to work and brings a smile to my face. Koral and Dallas are the best store managers and I couldn’t ask for better supervisors. I’ve always said the best supervisor is one who will do the work right along side you and they both aren’t afraid of getting their hands dirty.
The daily supervisors, Pam, Erika, Shauna, Sandy are so fun to work with. Sandy loves getting on the radio making rhymes and singing 80’s tunes. It’s a great group to work for. I enjoy it immensely. I’d do a call out to my many wonderful coworkers at Kohl’s but there are way too many. I hope you all know how much you mean to me.
Coworkers make the day go by so much easier. They are there to lift you up when you need it. They straighten you out when your headed down the wrong path. I hope you all know how grateful I am to you all. Thanks for being you. Live life to the fullest!
