Road Trip

So, I have been researching places to go on vacation this year. With so many choices it is hard to choose. I think I have settled on a quick trip to Tennessee to see my son then on to Paducah Kentucky. What is in Paducah KY you ask? The National Quilt Museum!!  Not sure if I will be in envy and loving what I see or totally overwhelmed and discouraged by my own limitations. With my love of quilting, I hope it is inspirational.

Of course, there will be plenty of fabric shopping at Hancock’s of Paducah and several other fabric stores I’ve found in my research.

Then, I need to marvel at the Kentucky culture and see the “Wall to Wall” murals in Paducah, check out the Railroad Museum and walk the Riverfront.

I think it will be a fun and educational trip. I have ordered my street map of Paducah. Talk about old fashioned. Planning is my thing. I must find the most economical way from stop to stop.

I am toying with the idea of going to Mammoth Cave on the way back home. Has anyone ever been there? It is a bit pricy at $30+ a ticket depending on what tour you want to take. I want to get one of those national park passport books and have them stamped every time I visit a national park. I am optimistic of traveling more. I better play the lottery.

Trying to talk Dad into going with us and staying with his grandson while we go to Kentucky. Then picking him back up on the way home. But, what to do with the dog???

With so many exciting places to go, it is really hard to decide. A cruise, a road trip, flight to somewhere. But there is nothing more fun than a good old fashioned road trip. I have already been volunteered to drive. Wish me luck.

What ideas do you have for this year’s vacation? Leave a comment below. Thanks for reading a live life to the fullest!
